now while i've posted about the con just before i'll post now about the silly and or stupid shit i've seen and heard about.

As most people that were there are aware of soon after the con the hotel started to feel a bit weird. the con itself performed very smoothly other than the fact that a lot of the panels had no lead as far as i was aware of. wtf was that? But the shittyness didn't come from the con but from the hotel management itself. they Scheduled the prom and those other convention people there right next to us and since the hotel thought of itself as something almost high class which probably came from them being named as 4 diamond material, pfft, they soon segregated us off. Now from the inner circle i know that there was just one person that set our con to be at this hotel this year and they didn't even bother getting with any of the other con staff to see if it would be good so thankfully that person that put us in that hotel is no longer on staff. Also if you are on the Califur mailing list you would have seen the reply that Waggs put out accidently to how the con was. To sum it all up, the con was smooth but the hotel treated us all like radioactive guiney pigs. I heard from a few others that a lot of the parties that were being put on were quickly shut down by hotel security no matter what the time was. Thankfully for Kiteless, Diadexxus and I we couldn't get a lower floor like they wanted so we got pushed to a suite floor which required a keycard swipe on the elevator to get up there so our little parties which we had was not bothered by dickheaded security pricks. Also after friday most of the hotel staff began treating many furs and their rooms very poorly. sometime during Saturday a big black cloth wall was erected to block out many of the furry convention areas which was really unusual but really was just fucking rude. my friend Zotcoon has a perfect video response to it right here and akhetnu put it simply with "The con was full of drama and lulz: wedding, drunks, parties shut down, and the Hyatt contracted Israel to construct a Gaza border fence." heh. some of those drunks I'll have pictures of up later for but when they found out that one of the fursuiters was actually female inside they rudely squeezed her breasts and ass while taking a picture of with her.

so yea, the hotel sucked but the con was still very enjoyable least for most. I've heard a bit from the inner circle that the old hotel Califur was at had actually contacted Califur staff saying they, old hotel, would love to have Califur back there again if posible. So we might head back to that hotel again but who knows. I left some feedback saying that if we could get a hotel near the Garment district and/or near the Asian market it would be nicer. Asian treats are always fun but near the garment district would also be cool as we could have many fursuiters and/or people interested in getting a fursuit or tail or whatnot could easily head over there and pick up some nice fur for a decent price, if you know how to haggle.
